At Medzorb, our key values include integrity and service. We aim to provide you with the best science-based products along with amazing customer service. We feel that all this can be done, while serving others because at the end of the day, we are all in this together.
My goal in creating Medzorb was to help those of us plagued with excessive sweat, while making a positive contribution to the world we live in. I believe that “A man’s true wealth is the good he does in this world.” (Prophet Muhammad SAW).
In the past, Medzorb® has partnered with various organizations including many that serve other neighbors, but those that live around the globe. Ultimately, my goal is to leave this earth, having made life a little bit easier for another human, animal or our environment. Early in my entrepreneurial journey, when profits were slim, my family and I gave back by serving those in need in inner city Indianapolis. With Circle City Relief, we focused on helping kids and students get access to much needed school supplies such as backpacks and general reading resources. We also volunteered many hours with their bookmobile to provide reading materials to young and old.
We have also been involved in helping a central Indiana-based non-profit (IWIN) that does an amazing job of helping women dealing with breast cancer. They help by providing basic needs such as food, transportation, cleaning services etc. for women undergoing treatment. Medzorb was honored to create originally designed cooling towels for IWIN for their charity tennis match. In fact, my first Medzorb project, dealing with cancer involved creating custom designed chemo caps for a dear friend who was fighting stage IV ovarian cancer. She loved them so much that when she graduated, and no longer needed chemo (and thank God, she is a survivor), she donated those caps to other patients who were still getting chemo.
In addition, we have also supported a local organization called Purchased. This amazing charity, is working very hard in Indianan communities to end human trafficking. We’ve also supported Outreach (Indiana), which empowers and equips homeless teens and young adults to achieve stability and life transformation. In fact, we created custom cooling towels for Outreach’s charity walk. The walk and cooling towels were a huge success!
Medzorb has also been very active for years in supporting our local animal shelter (Indy Humane Society). Cat rescue and fostering is a passion of mine and it takes so little to foster and socialize an animal to get her ready for a forever home. We continue to contribute by fostering and providing supplies, as well as volunteering. I suspect that this is one cause, next to literacy, that will always have a space on our list of charity “projects”.
What I have found is that somehow, call it a blessing, I am regularly drawn to a particular cause. The cause varies from year to year and so I feel that I am not ready to commit to any one cause. I look for those causes that are near and dear to my heart and that speak to me in a way that helps me find creative ways to support them.
With the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, we pivoted our business to begin making face masks/coverings using our high-performance fabric, to help our first-line heroes. This was such a simple and easy thing that Medzorb could do to support our local community in central Indiana. To date, we have donated over 300 Medzorb masks and 25 headbands with buttons, to the Carmel Police Department, Carmel Fire Department, our local hospital, St. Vincent’s Hospital, nursing homes and various other Doctor’s offices, nurses. We have also donated masks to students who were starting school and could not afford a mask. There is no greater joy than giving and knowing that what we are giving, no matter how small, is helping someone. Medzorb’ s goal for 2021 will continue to be to donate as many masks to those in need, as we can.
